[ 🤔 A new question every Monday ]
Jill and Liz are playing stroke and are on the starting teeing area. Liz has 14 clubs.
Jill realises she accidentally has 15 clubs in her bag which includes an extra putter she forgot to leave behind.
Jill correctly takes that club out of play before her round starts by informing Liz and placing a plastic bag over the offending club (is too late to offload it elsewhere).
Whilst playing the fourth hole, Liz’s putter is damaged when Jill’s buggy accidentally runs over it.
Knowing that she is entitled to replace the damaged club (without penalty) and being some distance from her locker room, Liz borrows Jill’s putter that was taken out of play earlier and uses it to complete the fourth hole and on each hole for the remainder of the round.
Before submitting a score, Liz and Jill discuss the situation with the Committee.

[ 🤔 A new question every Monday ]
David is playing stroke.
His ball has come to rest in a possible area of GUR.
Uncertain on how to proceed, David decides to play 2 balls, choosing the ball used in taking relief to be the one that counts, should the Rules allow.
He lifts the original ball (without marking it first) and compliantly takes relief from the course condition.
He then places a second ball on the spot where her original ball was at rest in the questionable area.
He now plays both balls to the fairway and completes the hole with both balls.
At the completion of the round, David reports to the Committee before submitting his score.
If the Committee Rules that the questionable area of GUR was in fact not GUR, David attracts an additional 1-stroke penalty for playing an incorrectly substituted ball.

LOVE THE GAME OF GOLF Â

Here’s a space and opportunity for golfers of all persuasions to review, interact, contribute, resolve scenarios, and seek support for issues associated with this great game.
Site focus is on the new (2023) Rules of Golf, principally utilising Quizzes along with other supporting resources.
GolfHelp does not compete with or challenge other golf resource sites. It has evolved out of a passion for the game and is designed to complement what is already in place supporting all golfers to better understand the game.
GolfHelp was conceived and developed in early in 2022 whilst COVID took its toll on golf events around the world. With feedback and new ideas, it continued to evolve.
The introduction of the revised Rules of Golf in January 2023 realised a need to undertake a major overhaul of the quiz question base.
I also took this opportunity to overhaul the site structure, layout, stability, data conforming and security. It was eventually republished on 3rd May 2023.
Questions are constructed with a lively manner utilising actual scenarios. They include images and detailed solutions, including active Ruling links back to the R&A’s Rules of Golf.
Random Question Quizzes are categorised as easy, intermediate and challenging. The challenging Quizzes are generally for seasoned Rules Officials.
Quiz questions are randomly taken from categorised pools which are continually being enhanced.
There are a variety of Quiz formats: multiple choice, true/false, turbo true/false, knockout true/false, timed true/false, golf trivia (not rules based), certificate options and the popular ‘Who Am I’.
Coming soon will be user customised quizzes.
