[ 🤔 A new question every Monday ]
David is playing stroke.
A hole has a boundary running along the left side.
David’s tee stroke on this hole goes left and comes to rest in the general area amongst some trees to the left of the putting green and is playable.
His next stroke hits a tree, rebounding back towards him and might go out-of-bounds so David deliberately stops the ball (before it goes out-of-bounds).
The players agree that the ball would have come to rest out-of-bounds.
David best estimates where he played that stroke from and places a ball on that spot.
He now takes 4 more strokes to complete the hole then starts the next.
What is David’s score for the hole?

Playing stroke, Greg’s tee stroke has come to rest on a general area slope near the putting green with a red penalty area some 10m (11 yards) behind him at the bottom of the slope.
In taking a club out of his bag, he accidentally fumbles it and it falls to the ground causing his ball to move.
He replaces the ball on its original spot and is now at rest again.
Before making a stroke, the wind causes his ball to roll down the slope and into the red penalty area.
Greg places his ball on the spot from where it was moved by the wind, then plays that ball to the putting green.

LOVE THE GAME OF GOLF Â

Here’s a space and opportunity for golfers of all persuasions to review, interact, contribute, resolve scenarios, and seek support for issues associated with this great game.
Site focus is on the new (2023) Rules of Golf, principally utilising Quizzes along with other supporting resources.
GolfHelp does not compete with or challenge other golf resource sites. It has evolved out of a passion for the game and is designed to complement what is already in place supporting all golfers to better understand the game.
GolfHelp was conceived and developed in early in 2022 whilst COVID took its toll on golf events around the world. With feedback and new ideas, it continued to evolve.
The introduction of the revised Rules of Golf in January 2023 realised a need to undertake a major overhaul of the quiz question base.
I also took this opportunity to overhaul the site structure, layout, stability, data conforming and security. It was eventually republished on 3rd May 2023.
Questions are constructed with a lively manner utilising actual scenarios. They include images and detailed solutions, including active Ruling links back to the R&A’s Rules of Golf.
Random Question Quizzes are categorised as easy, intermediate and challenging. The challenging Quizzes are generally for seasoned Rules Officials.
Quiz questions are randomly taken from categorised pools which are continually being enhanced.
There are a variety of Quiz formats: multiple choice, true/false, turbo true/false, knockout true/false, timed true/false, golf trivia (not rules based), certificate options and the popular ‘Who Am I’.
Coming soon will be user customised quizzes.
