David and Greg are playing stroke and both balls are slightly plugged in a greenside bunker close to each other.
Greg, playing first, gets David to mark and lift his ball and David does so without cleaning it.
Greg plays to the putting green and on his club follow-through alters David's lie and the marker is moved.
David replaces the marker without reinstating the original lie, replaces his ball, removes the marker and plays to the putting green.
David has proceeded correctly and no penalty applies.   [REF: 4T1043]

Golf Bunker

David is playing stroke and is using a caddie.
David has correctly determined the relief area for interference by an animal hole.
Whilst collecting an appropriate club, the caddie drops a ball for David which comes to rest just outside the required relief area.
David lifts the ball and drops it himself, again the ball comes to rest just outside the relief area.
David lifts the ball and places it on the spot in the relief area where his drop first made contact with the ground. David now plays that ball.
David gets just 1 penalty stroke.        [REF: 4T1057]

Animal Hole

In a stroke round, Liz finds her ball at rest in the general area as in the image.
She thinks the tuft of turf is loose and attempts to pick it up (without moving her ball).
She finds that it is still attached and in reinstating its original position the ball accidentally moves.
Liz replaces the ball correctly and then makes a stroke.
There is no penalty.   [REF: 4T1037]

David and Greg are playing stroke.
Greg has correctly marked and lifted his ball from the putting green.
Before he can replace his ball, his marker is moved about 60cm (2 feet) from its correct location when David accidentally kicks it.
Greg leaves the "marker" where it is and replaces his ball on its correct original spot (best estimate). He then putts with the "marker" still on the putting green.
Greg gets just the 1 penalty stroke?   [REF: 4T1033]

Marking golf ball on putting green

Greg is playing a match and has been getting advice from 2 caddies since his round started.
Both he and his opponent are unaware that this is not permitted.
Greg wins the fourth hole, is now is 1-up (as agreed between the players) and continues discussing strategies with both caddies.
Before either player tees off off on the fifth hole, Greg becomes aware of his Rule breach, and immediately discontinues with one of the caddies.
His opponent requests a Ruling for when a Rules Official becomes available. The players play out the fifth hole, which Greg wins.
A Rules Official becomes available and is consulted.
The correct status of the match:   The match is tied ('all square') and players proceed to the sixth hole.       [REF: 4T1014]

frustrated caddies

Playing stroke, Greg's long tee stroke has come to rest in some thick vegetation to the right of the fairway. He does not play a provisional ball.
Within the 3-minute search time, Greg finds what he believes to be his ball, but also finds an identical ball close by and he cannot determine which one is his.
He chooses one of the balls and take 4 strokes with it to hole out.
Before starting the next hole, he is made aware of his error(s) and returns to the teeing area and from there takes 5 strokes to complete the hole.
Greg's score for the hole is 9.      [REF: 4T1040]
