Background

disabled golferThe Rules of Golf underwent a major overhaul in 2019. What did they look like in 1744?
In January 2023 a revision of the Rules of Golf was released streamlining and accommodating scenarios arising since in the last significant revision in 2019.
A significant change is the addition of Rule 25 (for players with a recognised disability).

The Official Guide to the Rules of Golf (2023) publication and the online version are used for rulings and explanations.
The Players’ Edition (pocket) is no longer being published but has been replaced with the Player’s Rule Finder covering the common scenarios. The Rules Guide is also available online at the USGA.
Here’s a link to a summary of the 2023 changes and other useful resources.

 Question Development

The questions constructed are designed to help players better understand the rules by presenting a range of familiar scenarios that might arise whilst playing.
The questions are not intended to be complicated but do vary in difficulty. The fully explained answers (along with appropriate links to the R&A web site) should help golfers of all persuasions.
There’s a variety of Quiz types: Multiple Choice, True/False, Speed True/False and the popular ‘Who Am I’. No single Quiz has the same set of questions … the questions set is taken randomly from a growing pool of questions.
⛳⛳  Each month a new set of 6 quizzes, each of 6 questions are added  ⛳⛳
For those who are confident, Certificate Quizzes can be undertaken – these require a higher passing level and usually a little less time to complete.
Participants are also able to submit their own questions (see links under the contact menu).

Participants are able to monitor and track their progress as Quizzes are undertaken.
Participants are required to become a registered user and use their login when undertaking quizzes to monitor this progress – only the user sees this progress. These details are entered and maintained with absolute confidentiality.

Yosemite SamFour players, David, Greg (both men), Liz and Jill (both women) will be used in the scenarios. Greg is the only left-hander.
A determined effort has been made to ensure grammatical correctness, gender balancing and correct answers. However, the information on this site is presented as is.
If you have an issue or concern, constructive feedback is most welcome. Should a query involve specific questions please provide the question reference (ie  3T214, 3M173, 3W201, 3S276 ….) – use the contact menu for feedback OR submitting questions.
