Liz's ball has come to rest wedged under a rock in the general area and has no reasonable stroke.
There is a live dangerous snake resting on top of this rock.
Liz is entitled to free 'Dangerous Animal Condition' relief.      [REF: 4S1527]

In a stroke round, David's ball is at rest on the putting green after 3 strokes.
His next stroke is strong and comes to rest in a yellow penalty area situated well below the other side of the putting green.
David best estimates the point of entry and drops a ball into a 2-clublength lateral relief area.
Before making a stroke, he lifts the ball and places a different ball on the spot from where his putt was made from.
From there, David holes out with 2 more strokes.
David scores 7 for the hole.       [REF: 4S1508]

In a stroke round, whilst playing the seventh hole, Greg, believing he had started with 13 clubs adds a 7-iron to his bag without delaying play.
He completes 3 more holes then realises he now has 15 clubs (actually started with 14).
Greg, immediately (and correctly) takes his 7-iron out of play, then continues with his round.
Greg is disqualified.     [REF: 4S1534]

Greg is playing stroke.
Whilst his stroke made from off the putting green is in motion, he quickly moves forward and lifts some pine needles (on the putting green) that his ball might strike.
There is no penalty and Greg's ball is played as it lies.     [REF: 4S1547]

David and Greg are playing as opponents in a match.
David has a tricky downhill putt to halve the hole.
His putt rolls well past the hole and whilst still in motion, is deliberately stopped by Greg.
Greg wins the hole.     [REF: 4S1520]

Jill's ball has come to rest on a stationary maintenance vehicle which is parked in the middle of a red penalty area (no water).
Before Jill gets to her ball, the maintenance vehicle is driven to a spot which is now out-of-bounds and her ball is still in the vehicle.
Jill's ball is not out-of-bounds, but she must take penalty area relief.     [REF: 4S1541]

In a stroke round, Jill's ball is at rest on the putting green (after 4 strokes) and she has line-of-play interference by some temporary water on the putting green.
She marks and lifts her ball and correctly determines the nearest point of complete relief which happens to be 'off' the putting green, but in the general area.
She places a different ball on that spot.
Before she can make a stroke, a gust of wind causes the ball to roll down a slight slope and come to rest about 1m (3 feet) further from the hole, but still in the general area.
Jill replaces her ball, takes 2 strokes to hole out then starts the next.
What is Jill's score for the hole?       [REF: 4M1042]

woman on putting green

David and Greg are playing stableford.
They are playing a Par 4 where both have 1 handicap stroke.
Both balls are on the putting green. David has had 5 strokes and Greg has had 3 strokes.
David putts and his ball comes to rest well short of the hole and still on the putting green (not on Greg's intended line of play or in a possible backstop position).
David now has zero points for the hole and his hole is completed.
David leaves his ball where it is and Greg then putts.
Greg's errant putt strikes David's ball and Greg's ball comes to rest near the hole.
Greg's putt does not count and must be replayed.         [REF: 4T1018]

Man Putting

Playing stableford, Jill’s ball is at rest on the on the putting green.
She correctly marks, lifts, cleans and replaces her ball then removes the ball-marker.
Not happy with the alignment, she marks the ball by placing the tip of her bare finger on the putting green alongside the ball and with the other hand rotates the ball to correct the alignment then lifts her finger.
Jill gets just a 1-stroke penalty.   [REF: 4T1041]

marking golf ball on putting green

Playing stroke, Liz's second stroke on a hole has come to rest in the general area inside an area of GUR.
The GUR is defined by a series of stakes.
She decides to take free relief and drops a ball compliantly.
Liz makes her next stroke with her foot just touching one of the stakes defining the area of GUR.
She then takes 4 more strokes to complete the hole.
What is Liz's stroke score for the hole?       [REF: 4M1022]

golf lofted stroke

Greg and Liz are playing stroke and Greg's ball is at rest on the fringe of the putting green (general area).
He has been asked by Liz to mark/lift his ball as it could interfere with Liz's next stroke. Greg obliges.
By accident, Greg replaces a different ball and removes the marker.
Before he can make a stroke, a gust of wind causes that ball to move about 60cm (2 feet) coming to rest in the general area.
Greg now realises he had incorrectly substituted a ball. He marks the ball's position (in it's current location) and replaces his original ball and removes the marker.
Greg now makes a stroke at that ball.
How many penalty strokes (if any) does Greg get?     [REF: 4M1028]

Marking Golf Ball

Playing stroke, Greg lifts his ball to take unplayable penalty relief.
Before putting a ball into play, he now realises the ball was in a small area of 'ground under repair' in the general area.
Greg takes relief by dropping a ball compliantly using the free relief option for interference by GUR then makes a stroke.
How many penalty strokes does Greg get?      [REF: 4M1031]
